These terms are the agreement between you and Mizan. You accept them when you tap Agree and continue at sign-in, or when you keep chatting with Mizan on WhatsApp after we share the link to them. We kept them short and plain.
What Mizan is
Mizan reads your coffee bag, or the coffee you type, and gives you a recipe balanced for your beans, your brewer and your taste. You can brew it step by step, and tell us how the cup tasted so the next one is better.
The free beta
- Mizan is in a free beta. Things will change and sometimes break.
- You get 3 free recipes per phone number or device. After that, register in the app and add your number to keep going.
- House recipes are always free and never count towards the 3.
- Registered users have a generous daily allowance to keep the service fair for everyone.
- Invites: when a friend joins with your invite, you get extra free recipes. Extra recipes have no cash value, and we may cap them or remove them if invites are misused.
Recipes are suggestions
A recipe is our best suggestion, not a guarantee. Beans, grinders, water and machines vary, so trust your own taste and adjust.
Brewing uses hot water and hot equipment. Take care, keep children away, and follow your brewer's own safety instructions.
Works with xBloom
Mizan can send recipes to xBloom machines. Mizan is independent: we are not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by xBloom. Other product names belong to their owners.
Mizan has no partners. Recipes are not paid placements.
Using Mizan fairly
- On WhatsApp, Mizan talks about coffee only. Please keep it to coffee.
- No abuse, harassment, spam, or attempts to overload, scrape, copy or break the service.
- Only send photos and text you have the right to share.
- Do not pretend to be someone else or use another person's number.
If someone breaks these rules, we may limit or close their access.
Your account
You can use Mizan as a guest, or sign in with a code we send to your email. Keep your sign-in safe; you are responsible for what happens in your account. You must be 18 or older. You can delete your account and data at any time: see Delete your data.
Your content
Your photos, notes and feedback stay yours. You let us use them to run Mizan and make your recipes better, as our Privacy page explains.
The Mizan app, name and design belong to us.
Paid plans
Paid plans are not available yet. Before any are offered, we will update these terms and tell you clearly. Nothing will be charged without your clear agreement.
Our responsibility
We work hard to keep Mizan accurate and running, but during the beta it comes as it is, without promises that it will always be available or error-free.
As far as UAE law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, or for damage from how you brew, the equipment you use, or coffee that does not turn out the way you hoped. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under UAE consumer protection law.
Changes
We may update these terms as Mizan grows. We will change the date above and tell you in the app or on WhatsApp before a change that matters applies. If you do not agree, you can stop using Mizan and delete your data at any time. For paid plans, a change that affects what you paid for will not apply until your next billing period, and you can cancel before it does.
Law and courts
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai. Any dispute goes to the courts of Dubai.
