Delete your data

You can delete your Mizan data whenever you like. No questions, no hoops.
In the app
Go to Settings → Delete my account, type DELETE, and tap once. Your account and what sits under it are deleted straight away, and you are signed out. You need to be signed in to use this route.
By email
Email hello@mizanae.app from the address you signed in with and write "Delete my data". Sending it from that address is how we know the request is really yours.
On WhatsApp
Send the word "delete" to the Mizan WhatsApp number from the phone you use with Mizan. We will ask you to confirm with a button, then delete straight away. If the number is linked to an account, the account stays and only the number's data and link go. To delete the account too, use the app or email us.
What we delete
- Your account and sign-in details.
- Every number linked to you: its link to you, and the WhatsApp conversation and message records kept under it.
- Your recipes, brew feedback, notes and brew journal.
- Your coffee shelf and taste profile.
- The device id linked to you, and your invites.
- Reports you sent us about a recipe from your account, your WhatsApp number, or a device you used with your account.
- The link between you and our usage records. The records stay, with your account and number taken off them.
What we keep
We keep anonymous counts, such as how many recipes were made in a day. We also keep one small record against your phone number: how many free recipes it used, and a block if it was ever used to abuse the service. That record holds, for now, the number itself, with the free-recipe count and any block. We are moving to a dated, coded-only record. Nothing else is tied to it, and it is kept only so that deleting and coming back does not reset the free recipes.
How long it takes
In the app and on WhatsApp it happens straight away. If you write to us, we finish within 24 hours and confirm by the same route you used. Backups roll over on their own and are fully cleared within 7 days.
Deleting cannot be undone. If you come back later, you start fresh.
